Diarmuid graduated from The Queen’s University, Belfast with LL.B (Hons) Degree in Law in June 2006.
Upon graduation, Diarmuid commenced employment with a large city law firm in order to gain some valuable experience. He then joined John F Gibbons & Co. Solicitors in January 2007, initially as a Legal Executive.
He subsequently obtained a place at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Belfast, and accepted the offer of a training contract with John F Gibbons & Co. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in September 2009.
Primarily involved in Residential Conveyancing and Administration of Estates, Diarmuid also advises on Civil Litigation, Matrimonial, and Criminal Law issues.
Graduated from Queens University Belfast with LLB (Honours) in 1989 and was admitted as a solicitor in Northern Ireland in 1991 and as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1992. He was admitted as a solicitor in the Republic of Ireland in 2007.
John F Gibbons is the principal of the firm. After working in London and South East England for a number of years, John F. returned to Northern Ireland to set up the firm in 1995.
John F handles the firm’s civil litigation including personal injury claims. He recently acted for a plaintiff in a clinical negligence case recovering £3.25 million in damages. His caseload includes commercial, property and banking litigation. He also specializes in commercial property transactions and assists Diarmuid Devlin with the residential conveyancing caseload.
John F. Gibbons is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of accident victims.
Outside the office John F. was appointed a member of the Solicitor’s Disciplinary Tribunal in 2008 and has chaired the tribunal in a number of important cases. He is an enthusiastic member of the NI Solicitor’s Golf Society and its captain for 2012
